Working visit to France by Prime Minister Luc Frieden
Prime Minister Luc Frieden travelled to France for his first working visit abroad, which focused on the future of Europe.
At the invitation of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, the Prime Minister attended a meeting in Paris to discuss Europe's future strategic agenda. His counterparts from the Netherlands, Estonia, Portugal and France were also present. Discussions focused on the key points to be included in the European Union's future strategic agenda.
The Prime Minister was also welcomed to the Élysée Palace by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron. This bilateral meeting underlined the close ties between Luxembourg and France.
This meeting followed a further meeting with the Prime Minister of the French Republic, Elisabeth Borne, in the presence of Laurence Boone, Secretary of State for Europe. The main bilateral topics were discussed. The importance of close cooperation on safety, mobility and teleworking was raised. Discussions also focused on current European affairs, including the economic outlook, the energy transition and the European budget.
